An Homage to the Apple iPhone 3GS and Chase Jarvis

After an 'Ode to My Mother', I was still in the mood to pay homage.  This morning I picked up the copy of the new Chase Jarvis book I had ordered; The Best Camera Is the One You Have With You.  The book is a fascinating image journal from an entire year (sound familiar) that Jarvis created using his Apple iPhone in the same manner that an artist might keep a sketch book for visual ideas.

His website is well worth checking out -  http://www.chasejarvis.com/

Today I went south of the border to visit family and friends and took my regular Nikon gear, but was inspired by Jarvis to use only mu iPhone for the entire day.  I shot over 150 frames and got nearly thirty that I liked.  In the end, I once again had real trouble choosing my single image of the day, but after looking at the first eight days, opted for colour, glorious colour.

Rather than being a challenge, today was real fun. I had a blast seeing just what my iPhone 3GS and its 3 mega-pixel camera could do.

Check out my Flickr Set for the day.

This will be my first postscript to Fifty in Photos in 2010.  Here goes.

From my Comments:

"I had a number of people e-mail and ask me which other photos I was considering for the "photo of the day". And two people actually told me that they preferred a second image. Which, interestingly enough, was almost my pick of the day. I really struggled between the two."

What is your opinion?  What gets your pick, Fishing Floats or The Boat Bumper?

  2. Nope, seeing them side by side, I still like the Fishing Floats more than the Boat Bumper. But it's a horse race!

  3. I like them both but the boat bumper wins for me.
